Updated for the 2007 season

THIS IS A LUXURY SELF CATERING LOG CABIN.

The log cabin is set within White Cross Bay Leisure Park and Marina. The site is situated mid way between Windermere-on-Bowness and Ambleside.

This log cabin sleeps six in two bedrooms and on a double settee. The main bedroom and en-suite bathroom are designed for a wheelchair user. The bedroom has two seperate 3ft beds which can easily be moved to make a king sized double bed; there is a large built-in wardrobe with a low hanging rail and another wardrobe with ample drawer space. We have now added a small TV that shows the same channels as the main TV. The en-suite bathroom has been setup close to the "M3" building regulations. The toilet has two drop-down grab rails that are supported down to the floor. The shower has a folding chair with arms, close to the thermostatic controls of the shower. The wash basin, mirror and shaving point are also at a suitable height. The second bedroom has two single beds and a seperate bathroom which has a number of grab handles.

THE OPEN PLAN LIVING AREA

This area has also been designed with the wheelchair user in mind. The living area has two armchairs and a bed settee, the wide screen TV has a limited range of "sky" channels and is coupled to a DVD\Video combi player for your enjoyment after a hard day sunbathing on the decking. There is also a full central heating and a gas fire for the cool evenings. The dining area seats six on a large pull-out table, set at an acceptable height for a wheelchair user. The dining area and the living area face south west to make the most of the sun all day.The kitchen area is not especially designed for a wheelchair user but it does not stop you getting to the large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and full cooker. Some cupboards will be out of reach. All doors are 900mm wide with lights and plugs at the mid height level.

OUTSIDE

A ramp leads from the car park up to the front door and decking. The double patio doors in the living area open directly onto the very large decking. An outside table and seats are also set out for the sunny days; at the end of the table is a clear area for a wheelchair user.

Most of the surfaces within White Cross Bay Leisure Park and Marina are tarmac. A short stroll takes you down to the water's edge where you can watch the boats and feed the swans, ducks and seagulls.
